Panchali's Mahabharata : THE PALACE OF ILLUSIONS by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni

While I was descovering HIM, SHE came with yet another perspective. And I got curious about HER too.

Thank you so much @divakarunichitra for THE PALACE OF ILLUSIONS.

I fell in love with Karn after reading Ranajit Desai's RADHEY, and was really hoping to read more material about him. The moment I picked this book with a pleasant green coloured cover, the name "palace of illusions" cought my eye. I bought it.

It was about Draupadi. Her perspective about the great war of Mahabharata. Her emotions her thoughts. Love for karn made me curious about Mahabharat. And I picked this book to explore yet another character, Draupadi.

As I began reading I started connecting to this curious, confident and intelligent lady. Not to forget beautiful. I really liked the way Draupadi's relationship with every character was shown. What were her thoughts about her husbands? how it was different with everyone? was amazing. And the war scene, my eyes were actually wet while reading that. The scenes were so nice in description, I was able to experience the story with the characters. It was really nice looking at the Mahabharat tale from Draupadi's eyes. And then a surprise was waiting for me. Karn.

The role of Karn in this novel was surely a surprise. Getting to know Draupadi's take on Karn was interesting.

My intention was to understand one of the characters of Mahabharata, but I was lucky to get to know two of them, and get curious about many others.

ENJOYED READING

THANK YOU so much @divakarunichitra and ALL THE BEST for your future writings.
